CLA is growing and seeking to hire an experienced Manager/Director - Accounting Methods to join our talented Federal Tax Strategies team. The position offers growth, flexibility and a collaborative work environment. The Accounting Methods team specializes in tax strategies involving the timing and character of income, expense, capitalization, and cost recovery to meet tax objectives.The team serves clients by determining optimal tax treatment for items and establishing and executing on procedural processes (such as Form 3115 filings) to implement strategies.The team is known for its agility in researching and navigating new or complex tax issues to create opportunities.

How you'll create opportunities in this Manager/Director - Accounting Methods role:

• Consult on accounting methods-related issues including automatic and non-automatic accounting methods changes including overall methods, revenue & expense recognition, inventory, capitalization, cost recovery and accounting periods.
• Conduct research related to accounting methods tax issues to maintain and expand your knowledge base.
• Manage accounting methods tax projects including client interviews, reviewing client data, reviewing Forms 3115 and supporting calculations.
• Collaborate with numerous principals, including industry leaders and other marketing and business personnel throughout the Firm.
• Assist with managing client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.
• Coach or mentor staff to assist with enhancing their skills and further developing their career.
• Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in an effective and reliable manner.

What you will need:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• 6 years of experience serving in a tax role with public accounting and/or professional services firm required
• CPA required (EA or JD may be accepted in lieu of CPA certification)
• Experience managing a broad range of tax compliance or tax accounting methods and inventory studies preferred

The wage range for this position is: $121,000 - $204,000

Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range.
