SUMMARY To obtain, catalog, archive and distribute technical documents. Ensure appropriate format of technical documents is accomplished to support all naval and commercial repair contracts. Provide enterprise repository status when required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Provides for storage and distribution of all technical documents such as drawings, technical manuals, specification, mil specs/standards, etc. required in support of all naval and commercial repair contracts
- Maintains Repair Technical Library as the focal storage and distribution point for repair contract technical documents
- eBook work packaging and distribution of Work Item(s) and related technical documents
- Flag and maintain list of technical documents that are un-obtainable and report to supervisor
- Ensure and demonstrate that Export Compliance protocol is followed
SKIILS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School graduate; preferably with some college or technical training
- Ability to speak Spanish is preferred but not required
- Ability to learn in cataloging engineering documentation such as drawings and technical manuals
- Ability to learn in cataloging Navy documentation such as NSTM, MIL-Specs/Standards, SIDs, SDI's, CDRLs, etc.
- Obtain and maintain a Government clearance
- Basic knowledge of Library storage, archiving and cataloging methods
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills in Excel and Word
- Strong organizational skills while processing high volume workflow
- Ability to type 60 wpm
- Ability to perform ten-key functions
Physical Demands dexterity must allow for bending and reaching. Must maintain mental alertness and all safety requirements, particularly when transiting in production areas. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to dust, welding/burning fumes, and smoke. Must be able to spend up to 10% of time in an outdoor shipyard environment in all climates. The noise level is usually low to moderate in office environments and moderate to noisy in production environments 70% of the time. Production noise may include sirens, horns, chipping, and hammering. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS * This position reports to the department supervisor assigned * Interacts frequently with Senior Librarian on technical documentation requirements * Interacts frequently with internal repair departments, production, trades, subcontractors on technical documentation requirements ACCOUNTABILITY * Accurately meet daily processing goals of a minimum of 100 technical documents for repository maintenance * Accurately populate and maintain meta data to ensure files are searchable * Accurately meet daily issuing requirements of a minimum 100 technical documents via eBook and/or Technical Document Request Form * Ensure latest revision of Technical Manuals are maintained within the repository per contract requirements * Ensure latest revision of Technical Drawings are maintained within the repository per contract requirements * Process electronic in-box daily * Practice discretion while in support of proposal preparation for Repair Estimating and/or Repair Contracts * Handle and store NOFORN documents in accordance with Export Compliance policies * Validate walk-up customer badges and their level of clearance for document delivery in accordance with Security and Export Compliance policies Results are related to the quality and timeliness of achieving project goals as well as indicated by comparison of actual-to-planned production performance improvements.
