The Business Office Manager is a position with the responsibility of assisting the Administrator with managing, directing, coordinating, and monitoring the overall functions of the Billing Department within ENTAA Care, a practice pod of Johns Hopkins Regional Physicians LLC. Among the essential functions of the role include:
- Assists with planning, directing, and monitoring of registration, patient insurance, billing, data processing, coding, and collections to ensure accurate and timely patient billing and efficient account collections.
- Manages the ENTAA Care billing department operations. Monitors daily operating activity of department and makes necessary adjustments in work assignments.
- Maintains knowledge of and complies with established policies and procedures including government, insurance, and third-party payer regulations. Notifies and trains staff of significant changes.
- Prepares and writes reports. Maintains required records and files.
- Performs coding and error resolutions requiring independent judgment
- Helps train new providers. Completes ongoing training for all staff and providers to keep up with billing and coding changes including changes in insurance protocols. Prepares reference guides as needed.
- Completes training, orientation, and performance evaluation.
- Maintains and reviews supervisory timesheets and submits information for payroll on a biweekly basis.
- Assigns and monitors departmental goals for staff members.
- Oversees surgery department operations.
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm No weekends Qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED
- Baccalaureate Degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Certified Professional Coding Certificate required
- Minimum of five (5) years of medical business office experience or two (2) years as a department manager in billing, accounting, or information systems.
