The Continuous Improvement Engineer will work with all departments of the facility to design, implement, monitor, improve and maintain the manufacturing process. This includes leading the introduction and implementation of key manufacturing initiatives which will drive continuous improvement at all levels of the facility.

Responsibilities:


  • Continuous Improvement

    • Implement process improvements to achieve continuous improvement in yield, quality, cost, and productivity
    • Implement lean practices
    • Establish new or improved systems for sales order ingest, backlog management, production planning, raw material ordering, and subcontractor management
    • Implement quality and yield metrics
    • Capacity planning
    • Specify new or replacement equipment, investigates costs, and determines ROI for continuous improvement.
    • Specify equipment preventative maintenance procedures
    • Establishes quality related process monitors




Requirements:

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Familiarity with SPC, Six-Sigma, TRB, FMEA, AS9100, and other quality methodologies
  • Ability to establish priorities and perform multiple tasks at one time
  • Well-developed organizational and inter-personal skills. A self-starter and self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and positive influence on the team and organization
  • Strong PC skills. Focus on Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Knowledge of database programs is a plus.


Educational Requirements:

  • BS degree in Engineering, Sciences or Mathematics
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in continuous improvement initiatives and methods engineering
