MAJOR FUNCTION Responsible for shipping products out of the Fulfillment Center in Rancho Palos Verdes (Crestmont Campus) in a timely manner, ensuring that adequate inventory is maintained. Maintain inventory in a safe and clean environment, ensuring that there is adequate storage for inventory. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Extensive knowledge of Salvation Army policies and procedures
- Some knowledge of Spanish and/or other languages used in the territory would be an advantage
- Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel
- Knowledge of UPS or other shipping system
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position ensures orders for TradeWest are filled and shipped in an efficient and timely manner. Prints and prioritizes orders daily.
- Ensure that TradeWest Fulfillment Center Manager is aware of all inventory needs and issues.
- Work with Customer Service to ensure that all inventory issues are communicated to customers in a timely manner.
- Assist Fulfillment Center Manager in shipping all orders out daily and compares shipping rates for orders.
- Ensure that items are shipped out well packaged and presented to the customer
- Be able to produce reports from the system showing shipping cost for both Trade and other vendors
- Operate and maintain embroidery machine and engraving machine after adequate training.
- Travel may be required as needed.
- Assist at territorial events, such as Commissioning, as needed.
- Heavy lifting and substantial moving and organizing of inventory
- All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Active Salvationist, or extensive knowledge of The Salvation Army as an employee, preferred
- Experience working with a wide diversity of people in a customer service environment.
- Experience working as a shipper highly desirable
- Expert knowledge of a major shipping system (UPS, FedEx, USPS) an essential

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead
- Ability to operate telephone
- Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to access and produce information from a computer
- Ability to understand written information
