MAJOR FUNCTION

Responsible for shipping products out of the Fulfillment Center in Rancho Palos Verdes (Crestmont Campus) in a timely manner, ensuring that adequate inventory is maintained. Maintain inventory in a safe and clean environment, ensuring that there is adequate storage for inventory.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Extensive knowledge of Salvation Army policies and procedures
• Some knowledge of Spanish and/or other languages used in the territory would be an advantage
• Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel
• Knowledge of UPS or other shipping system

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position ensures orders for TradeWest are filled and shipped in an efficient and timely manner. Prints and prioritizes orders daily.
• Ensure that TradeWest Fulfillment Center Manager is aware of all inventory needs and issues.
• Work with Customer Service to ensure that all inventory issues are communicated to customers in a timely manner.
• Assist Fulfillment Center Manager in shipping all orders out daily and compares shipping rates for orders.
• Ensure that items are shipped out well packaged and presented to the customer
• Be able to produce reports from the system showing shipping cost for both Trade and other vendors
• Operate and maintain embroidery machine and engraving machine after adequate training.
• Travel may be required as needed.
• Assist at territorial events, such as Commissioning, as needed.
• Heavy lifting and substantial moving and organizing of inventory
• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Active Salvationist, or extensive knowledge of The Salvation Army as an employee, preferred
• Experience working with a wide diversity of people in a customer service environment.
• Experience working as a shipper highly desirable
• Expert knowledge of a major shipping system (UPS, FedEx, USPS) an essential
