Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, Residential Leasing, the Residential Services Specialist is responsible for oversight of all aspects of a 10-year master lease within a Public Private Partnership apartment complex at the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento. The master lease of 103 beds (49 units) in the ANOVA Aggie Square apartment building is geared to support students, staff and affiliates who study and work at the Aggie Square and UC Davis Health campus. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with academic units at both campuses, including School of Medicine, School of Nursing, Veterinary Medicine, Graduate Studies, Quarter in Aggie Square, and any future academic unit which may be located at the UC Davis Health campus. This is the only housing located outside of the city of Davis, for UC Davis students, requiring analysis and resolution of operational challenges unique to this location, to ensure full occupancy, student tenant satisfaction, efficient working relationship with P3 owner/operator, collaboration with UC Davis Health campus providing custodial and other collective bargaining related services, and proactive relationships with the Health Campus and Aggie Square leadership. Responsibilities include activities associated with maintaining interest lists, processing applications, offering leases for bed spaces, allocating space, assignments, room and apartment transfers, wait lists, billing, coordinating apartment turnover, and eligibility. Provide high level of customer service to students, parents, administrators, and others regarding all aspects of the application and lease process. Coordinates in person, email, virtual and phone communication and provides daily leasing office support.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • High School Diploma and /or 3 years of experience working within apartment communities or on campus housing programs to support leasing or contracting tasks
  • Experience establishing goals and workload priorities, handling multiple tasks and complex projects simultaneously, distributing effort among projects with conflicting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience performing high-level analytical work, including analyzing complex information from various sources, conducting independent research, presenting large quantities of data in an understandable format, and using independent judgment to propose strategic recommendations, solutions, and execute programmatic goals to facilitate decision-making.
  • Experience using excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to interact and communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally in person, via email and over telephone with individuals of varying backgrounds and perspectives (students, university staff and third party university affiliates)
  • Experience utilizing various software programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management tools, while maintaining confidentiality and ensuring the security of sensitive data, including FERPA and other confidential information.
  • Experience the preparation of various correspondence, reports, policies and procedures, agreements, training documents, and presentations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality or related area and/or equivalent 3 years of experience/training
  • Experience using StarRez Housing Management System
  • Experience recruiting, supervising and evaluating student staff members.
  • Knowledge of the business principles, practices, and trends of management, marketing, and student housing services to make effective judgments.
