DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Custodial Worker 1, you will be responsible and accountable for the basic housekeeping needs of the hospital in specifically assigned areas. You will also assist in removing snow from walkways, moving furniture, and operating all custodial equipment. An ideal candidate for this position will be detail-oriented and possess the ability to follow protocols and procedures to ensure the cleanliness and safety standards are met. You will play a vital role in promoting the overall well-being of the hospital community. Additionally, your commitment to maintaining a clean and hygienic environment will contribute to the success of the mission of the hospital and ultimately benefit the health and well-being of all who enter its doors.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, rotating weekends and holidays as assigned, with a 30-minute lunch. Work hours and schedule may change based on operational needs.
  • An employee in this position will be considered an essential employee who will be required to report to work during emergencies and office closings.
  • Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
