Overview

The Financial Business Partner is a strategic and analytical finance professional that serves as a key business partner within our organization. This role will bridge finance and operations, providing financial leadership, insightful analysis, and strategic recommendations to drive business performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to develop budgets, reports, forecasts and investment/scenario analyses that provide clear and actionable analysis and enable data-driven decision-making consistent with business goals. The Financial Business Partner is proactive utilizing their understanding of business drivers as well as internal and external trends to identify opportunities and risks, solve problems and guide business outcomes. This position will report directly to the Manager of FP&A and will include various operational and corporate business units for the company.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively partners with business leaders to better understand and guide financial outcomes through deep understanding of business drivers, communication and proactive support of business needs.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with leadership, earning trust and influence through actions and insights.
  • Applies education and business experience to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in financial data and deliver actionable insights.
  • Leads business unit financial planning and forecasting, including annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans, aligning them with overall business strategy.
  • Delivers timely and accurate financial reporting, including variance analysis, trend reporting, dashboards, and KPI tracking while looking beyond numbers to identify explanations for results, opportunities, and risks, making recommendations as appropriate.
  • Communicates effectively to all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to make financial concepts and results clear and accessible to financial and non-financial personnel.
    • Actively listens to obtain leadership perspectives, insights and needs.
  • Identifies and leads strategic projects, process improvements and the development of analytical tools to support business objectives, especially those related to financial performance.
  • Ensures compliance with financial policies and maintains strong internal controls.
  • Provides financial literacy training to enhance decision-making across the organization.
  • Responsibility includes regional retail product distribution operations and various corporate functions.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • An advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of proven experience in financial business partnering, analysis, or a similar role.
  • 1+ years of strong experience supporting and partnering with operations in retail, wholesale, manufacturing, and/or Consumer Packaged Goods companies.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, including proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools.
  • Proactive and results-driven with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving impactful business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence decision-making at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex data to both technical and non-technical audiences and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.
