Summary Support actuarial services by providing research data, reports, and analysis of the profitability of existing and new lines of business. Description

We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not able to sponsor visas for this position.

Location: This position is onsite at 4101 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist with statistical and reporting functions, regulatory reporting, data testing, and research. Prepare and update actuarial models and reconciles with financial statements.

  • Perform basic analysis of the rates and rating structures of competing programs to assist with competitive pricing decisions for various lines of business.

  • Provide support in various other studies and analysis that entails evaluation of future contingent events.

  • Maintain and enhance financial reporting databases.

To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need the Following:

  • Required Education: Bachelor's in a job related field

  • Required Work Experience: None

  • Required Training: Successful completion of one Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society exam.

  • Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent organizational, oral and written communication, and analytical or critical thinking skills. Knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts with the ability to use complex mathematical calculations. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion. Good judgment.

  • Required Software and Other Tools: Microsoft Office.

We Prefer That You Have the Following:

  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree-Accounting, Finance, Business.

  • Preferred Work Experience: 1 year of business experience.

  • Preferred Skills and Abilities: Presentation skills.

  • Preferred Software and Other Tools: Computer programming skills.
