Risk and Insurance Management

Job Description

The Risk and Insurance Management (RIM) department at the University of Missouri System focuses on controlling risks across all campuses to ensure the safety and well-being of the university community. They offer services like risk assessment, insurance management, and hazard mitigation strategies. Additionally, they provide forms and resources for incident reporting, claims management, and policy compliance.
This role is pivotal in supporting the Risk and Insurance Management (RIM) department by ensuring efficient management of data, timely response to information requests, and effective coordination of various administrative tasks. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of the team's operations, thereby contributing significantly to the department's overall mission of managing risks and ensuring the safety and well-being of the university community.

Nature of Work
* Prepares cost, planning, and procedural analyses to assist with data establishment and analysis within university information systems, ensuring timely response and access.
* Understands team integration to achieve objectives.
* Researches information, collects data, and prepares analyses/reports (e.g., data, budget, billing, purchasing).
* Completes routine tasks and assignments.
* Provides solutions to atypical or infrequent problems based on practice and precedents.
* Impacts team quality, timeliness, and effectiveness.
* Explains information within the team, noting improvements, efficiencies, and anomalies to the manager/supervisor or appropriate team member.
* Serves as a liaison inside and outside the team for routine matters.

Key Responsibilities
* Assist with various projects as assigned.
* Manage information requests, such as self-insurance evidence letters and COI orders.
* Organize claim files, policy folders, and yearly record retention.
* Enter claims and incidents into the database.
* Coordinate building tasks: mail sorting, ordering supplies, coordinating with repairmen and ongoing construction, replenishing breakroom supplies, etc.
* Facilitate insurance verifications and produce malpractice history letters as needed.
* Answer inquiries and enter Workers' compensation incident reports.
* Maintain the department website.
* Review claim invoices regularly and enter into the system for payment with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Manage the vehicle database: entering new vehicles and respond to inquiries.
* Produce Non-PO voucher payments for monthly bills and settlement payments.
* Follow procedures for using University credit cards.
* Answer the shared email box and direct inquiries to the appropriate individual.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

* Proficiency in office software, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Effective customer service and professional communication with a variety of personalities

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $16.72 - $22.91 per hour
Grade: GGS 007
