Overview:

The Sr Manager of New Business Development is responsible for overseeing and managing the personnel and processes that generate new business, increase profitable sales, and grow the customer base. This position also seeks out and gains new customers by promoting company brands, systems, products, and services; and through personal and network connections gains entry into new prospects and closes sales by obtaining signed contractual agreements that support the profitability of the organization.

CORE RESPONSIBITLIES include the following and all other duties assigned:



  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales targets for projected customers, regions, product lines, and sales personnel.
  • Work with internal business partners to establish short-term and long-term sales targets and objectives for the organization, to deliver P&L results.
  • Ensure sales targets are delivered through people management, performance review, reward and individual recognition.
  • Manages and Directs work of functional team, including hiring, corrective action, performance appraisals and pay review, budget and processes.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a large team, manage performance, and foster a collaborative and productive work environment in accordance to Wurth basic principles.
  • Implement training programs to ensure staff are equipped with necessary skills and knowledge, including new employee onboarding.
  • Manage workforce planning, staffing, and labor relations to meet operational requirements.
  • Drive the full end-to-end sales cycle (opening, execution, and closing).
  • Assist front line sales personnel with customer negotiations, contract terms, and product information to ensure a timely closure to the sales process.
  • Provide on-the ground support for sales representatives, colleagues, and enterprise operating companies.
  • Train sales personnel on the company's sales process, efficient use of sales tools, and company products.
  • Develop and deliver personalized and professional presentations to decision-making personnel to secure multi-year partnership agreements and provide insight and consultative solutions to customers.
  • Support the coordinated activities between customers and company departments to ensure successful project management and implementation of contract terms.
  • Ensure there is a robust pipeline with consistent movement of prospects through the sales cycle.
  • Prepare reports of business transactions, current prospect opportunities and contractual information.
  • Maintain accurate information for sales pipeline, prospects, customer information and communication logs within the CRM system.
  • Support customer implementations and continuous improvement initiatives and participate in trade shows and industry conferences.
  • Maintain ongoing awareness of the competitive environment and other market conditions.
  • Manage, empower and develop an effective team through appropriate selection, communication, coaching, training, reward/recognition and enforcement of company policies and procedures.
  • Continuously improve productivity and efficiency of processes throughout the operational organization.
  • All other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • B.S. Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field, and/or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial sales experience, with related products and/or related industry.
  • Experience with new customer or territory development, required.
  • Valid Driver's license and approved driving record.
  • High standard of professionalism and ethics.
  • Preferred style of teamwork, collaboration, and humility
  • Ability to analyze complex business situations and develop creative business focused solutions.
  • Self-starter, self -motivated, and ability to manage and drive own schedule.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, blueprint or schedule form.
  • Ability to translate and convey technical requirements for products and services.
  • Effective communicator, both verbally and with written communications.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees. Refined persuasion and related sales and presentation skills.
  • Strong listening and interpersonal skills, and formidable negotiating skills.
  • Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and execute in a high-pressure environment.
  • Comfort with and efficient in data analysis, graphs, statistics, percentages and ratios.
  • Travel estimated up to 90%.


Pay Range: $140,000 - $150,000

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, skills, work experience and certifications. You may also be eligible to participate in an annual incentive bonus. An incentive bonus, if any, depends on various factors such as organizational performance.
