Located at the corner of University and Mill, Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU amplifies Tempe's revitalized downtown area and brings some of the largest conference and meeting space to the city. The hotel features 330 guest rooms, four dining outlets, a spacious pool deck, retail, and almost 36,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space along with expansive views of the ASU campus and the Tempe cityscape. Job Description

We are seeking a inspiring and meticulous Director of Rooms to lead our Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and Loss Prevention departments. This role is pivotal in crafting memorable guest experiences and fostering a culture of excellence among our associates. The ideal candidate will be an inspiring leader dedicated to upholding Omni's standards of hospitality and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate leads with approachability and patience, coaching staff with encouragement and hands-on mentorship to build confidence, skill, and a deep commitment to service.



Responsibilities

    Leadership & Team Development: Cultivate and mentor a high-performing team across Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and Loss Prevention. Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Guest Experience Excellence: Consistently monitor and enhance guest satisfaction metrics. Address and resolve guest concerns promptly, ensuring a seamless and delightful stay.
  • Operational Oversight: Conduct regular inspections of all operational areas, ensuring adherence to Omni's quality and cleanliness standards. Collaborate with department heads to implement improvements and maintain high operational efficiency.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets for the Rooms Division. Implement effective cost control measures, including payroll and supply expenses, to achieve financial targets.
  • Third-Party Coordination: Oversee and manage the relationship with our third-party valet service provider, ensuring seamless guest experiences and service quality.
  • Policy Implementation: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Lead regular departmental meetings to foster communication, consistency, and a unified approach to service excellence.
  • Community Engagement: Embrace and promote Omni's core values, actively participating in community initiatives and fostering relationships that enhance the hotel's reputation and connection to the local area.


Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within the Rooms Division of an upscale or luxury hotel, with hands-on experience in Front Office and Housekeeping operations.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
  • Leadership Acumen: Proven track record of motivating and developing teams to achieve and surpass goals. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Financial Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, P&L analysis, and cost control measures.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and property management systems.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and navigate the property for extended periods. Occasionally required to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet the demands of a 24/7 operation.

*This position is a full-time, on-site position with no work from home flexibility.
