Position Summary

The Sr. Cloud Systems Administrator works with other IT groups and business units to design, build, manage, and maintain data center and cloud applications and the platforms they are hosted on.

This position will be primarily remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL:

* Manage and administer corporate cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Platform. This includes both platform level administration such as Subscriptions/Accounts/Projects, Access Control and RBAC, management groups, security and policy definitions, as well as management of cloud resources such as virtual networks, load balancers, firewalls, network security groups.

* Build new systems and infrastructure in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Platform using Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, ARM/Cloud Formation/PowerShell/Bash/Terraform templates while following established IT process and procedures.

* Manage and maintain existing on-prem data center and cloud infrastructure using VMWare/Dell/EMC/Cisco. This includes adding new components to support feature and capacity changes, conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting and break/fix work, vulnerability remediation, and scheduled testing and process work.

* Review and document existing complex on-prem systems and develop and execute detailed plans to support migration to cloud services.

* Establish new and maintain existing system, procedural, and architectural documentation.

NON-ESSENTIAL:

* Conduct assessments following best practice guidelines and security guidelines and policies to establish baselines and areas of improvement for applications and hosting platforms.

* Build and expand the Cloud team's capabilities using Orchestration and Automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

* 8 years of IT Infrastructure experience with a solid comprehension of network and server administration - (DNS, Firewalls, Load Balancing, NAT, routing), server administration including both Windows and Linux systems, CLI and scripting languages (Bash and/or Powershell).

* 5 years' experience with platform management in cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure or GCP.

* 5 years' experience building and managing systems based on native cloud architecture.

* Availability to participate in after-hours emergency on call rotation.

DESIRED:

* Experience with administration of Kubernetes, HDInsight, Kafka, MongoDB, SQL Server, Containerization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:

* Candidate must be driven to learn and apply new technologies.

* Must have strong desire to research and understand systems and issues.

* Great communication is required - this role works primarily with a blend of many different technical disciplines.

Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
