We're actively seeking a talented Senior Financial Reporting Analyst II to join our centralized accounting team in Newport Beach, CA office (hybrid work schedule).

How you'll help move us forward:

  • Execution of daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting and reporting including processing and review and approval of journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis of results to ensure completeness and accuracy of account balances
  • Preparation and review of various financial reporting requirements, including quarterly and annual GAAP and statutory financial statements, compliance requests, and internal management requests
  • Preparation of fluctuation analysis of quarterly results, including presentation of results to management on a quarterly basis and utilization of tools and technology to generate data visualizations and data driven insights
  • Preparation of technical accounting transaction and policy memos
  • Maintain and support an effective control environment to provide reliable financial reporting
  • Support finance transformation initiatives including automation of existing manual processes, business process redesign and acceleration of the accounting close process
  • May lead functional teams or projects

The experience you bring:

  • 8+ years of experience
  • 4-year accounting degree or equivalent experience
  • Solid understanding of financial statement risks and controls
  • Strong technical, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet and manage responsibilities under tight time frames
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal guidance
  • A desire to mentor colleagues with less experience

What makes you stand out:

  • Expertise in technical accounting and research, ensuring compliance with GAAP and STAT reporting requirements
  • Strong background in the insurance industry
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), system implementation, and system integration for financial applications
  • Proficiency in financial systems, including Oracle ERP, Oracle EPM, V3locity, Appian, Essbase, Workiva (WDesk)
  • Advanced expertise in financial statement analytics with a strong understanding of the structure, geography and components of line items to support accurate reporting and analysis
  • Basic understanding of investments and derivatives accounting, with the ability to analyze financial instruments and their impact on financial statements

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$121,770.00 - $148,830.00
