  • Estimated annual base pay: Level 3 - $90,400(minimum) - $113,000(midpoint) - $135,600(maximum)
  • Estimated annual base pay: Level 4 - $110,400(minimum) - $138,000(midpoint) - $165,600(maximum)

Are you ready to make your mark? If you're an Operations Engineer, we have an exciting opportunity for you. The Operations Engineer (level 4) reports to Technical Leadership and whose focus is performing design and support of high complexity manufacturing systems and equipment, mentoring to other Engineers and driving process improvements. This position works under a low level of supervision with a high level of independent work. The Staff Operations Engineer provides awareness and understanding of overall project portfolio, interactions and issues. In addition, this position may participate in project specific relationship building with Customers, Suppliers, individuals or organizations.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Plans, schedules and coordinates detailed phases of advanced technical solutions and leads team through process
  • May carry out complex or novel research assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures
  • Initiates, justifies, and implements new complex capital equipment purchases
  • Creates value stream layouts and process improvement initiatives to a high complexity
  • Uses advanced Six Sigma and lean tools to improve processes. Coaches other department members in the theory and application of these processes.
  • Represents the company with our customers, may lead technical discussions and present continuous improvement solutions to the customer in a review format
  • Directs and leads updates to management on operations status
  • Promotes and implements process improvements. Evaluates and defines engineering processes and procedures.
  • Creates, maintains and develops new process documentation. Supplies guidance on new documentation systems.
  • Creates, maintains and adheres to applicable Quality System requirements and leads process audits
  • Directs Process Flow Charts, PFMEA, and Control Plan Reviews
  • Mentors and trains Operations Engineers and Manufacturing Specialists on automation solutions at different sites

What We Are Looking For

Level 3 - Operations Engineer

  • US - Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Technical/Science or international equivalent required
  • Greater than 4 years professional engineering experience or a combination of experience and advanced degree required

Level 4 - Operations Engineer

  • US - Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Technical/Science or international equivalent required
  • US - Master's degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) or international equivalent preferred
  • 8+ years professional engineering experience or a combination of experience and advanced degree required
  • Advanced written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced Six Sigma systems knowledge; Advanced understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and promotes a lean manufacturing culture site wide
  • Advanced Project planning tools
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem solving skills; Advanced understanding of Root Cause Analysis
  • Strong computer skills and excellent technical writing skills
  • Uses advanced concepts of Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) and implements them into new product development. Coaches the engineering department on the theory and application of DFMA.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical and/or mechanical machine drawings, including industry specifications
  • Excellent understanding of applicable manufacturing processes in multiple industries including Computer Numeric Controls (CNC) programming; Ability to apply advanced knowledge of capabilities studies, Gage R&R, and machine capability; Advanced understanding of machinery related to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, etc. in order to specify equipment, procure equipment, and create new processes/machinery; Advanced understanding of product drawings, including GD&T and specification flow down
  • Knowledge on database management software skills; Advanced programming knowledge of applicable software (i.e. G Code, CNC, PLC, etc.)
