JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Tax Reporting Manager who will be responsible for coordinating all areas of U.S. federal, U.S. state and local and non-U.S. tax compliance requests for the consolidated Doble worldwide business. This position will coordinate with external service providers and internal finance departments worldwide to ensure tax compliance and complete and accurate reporting of all tax accounts to our parent company corporate office. This role will also coordinate with the US finance team and be involved in financial reporting and analysis as appropriate. This role will be based in our Marlborough, MA office reporting to the Vice President of Finance with an indirect reporting relationship to the ESCO Technologies Corporate Tax team in St. Louis, MO.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Respond to ESCO corporate tax department on all tax related requests, including, but not limited to:

    • Annual U.S. federal tax return requests
    • Quarterly tax provision requests
    • Reconciliation of key tax accounts
    • Foreign withholding tax
    • State apportionment requests


  • Serve as primary liaison between ESCO corporate tax department and all Doble international subsidiaries. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Coordination of and preliminary review of annual tax provision packages for controlled foreign corporations
    • Coordination of and preliminary review of annual US tax return requests for controlled foreign corporations
    • Review of key tax account reconciliations with local controller/finance team
    • Review of annual return to provision reconciliations
    • Review of cash tax payment forecasting
    • Review of stat to GAAP reconciliations
    • Other projects and consultations as deemed necessary.


  • Liaise with ESCO corporate tax department and third-party service providers to identify and complete transfer pricing documentation for Doble's worldwide business, including providing financial data as needed
  • Oversee and manage the relationship with the third-party service provider responsible for state and local sales and use tax filings, including gathering necessary data, reconciling reports and reviewing monthly filings as prepared.
  • Manage and file all required U.S. property tax returns
  • Work with the Director of Finance and the Chief Technology Officer to prepare and review the annual Research & Development tax credit requests
  • Support U.S. and non-U.S. tax audits as they arise
  • Support domestic and international statutory audits as necessary
  • Assist with other closing duties as assigned by the Doble US Controller and VP Finance


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

Four-year college or university degree with major course work in Finance or Accounting; OR a combination of experience, education, and training equivalent to a four-year degree.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:



  • Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in a multinational company
  • Proven project management skills and ability to meet critical deadlines while managing multiple priorities
  • Experience and understanding of revenue recognition principles
  • Experience in reviewing the financial performance of projects
  • Experience with key ASC 740 US income tax accounting rules preferred
  • Experience with large ERP system, Microsoft Busines Central preferred
  • CPA or Master's Degree preferred

  • Ability to effectively interpret and apply generally accepted accounting policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate financial terms, policies and performance to both financial and non-financial managers


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
