Account Specialist F/T Day

Job Summary

Essential Functions

• Handles incoming calls to the department. Provides information to callers/visitors pertaining to the services of the department. Greets internal/external callers/visitors in a prompt, pleasant and professional manner.

• Registers patients in an accurate and timely manner. Verifies payer source.

• Ensures all accounts have been billed timely, reports are worked, and unpaid claims are followed up on.

• Reports timely key statistics to management for compliance, sales, revenue, cash and patient flow.

• Performs insurance pre-authorization process, enters, validates, and reconciles visit activity and supplies to ensure accurate billing.

• Posts payments every day and reconcile deposits.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - High School diploma or equivalent, OR post high school diploma.

• Experience - Three (3) years of customer service experience.
