Job Description

Ross University School of Medicineinvites applications for full time Anatomical Sciences faculty with extensive knowlege of anatomical sciences and a strong preference for those with the ability to teach across the anatomical sciences (gross anatomy, histology, embryology, neuroanatomy/neurosciences, cel biology).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver effective, interactive lectures, demonstrations, and workshops across anatomical sciences (gross anatomy, histology, embryology, neuroanatomy/neurosciences, cell biology)
  • Facilitate small group learning and provide one-on-one support to students
  • Develop course materials, including handouts, practice questions, and NBME-style assessment items
  • Prepare, administer, and evaluate examinations to assess student accomplishments
  • Participate in curriculum review and revision with departmental colleagues
  • Advise students on academic matters and serve as a Faculty Mentor
  • Collaborate with the Academy for Teaching and Learning to support improved student learning
  • Engage in professional development activities to maintain subject matter competence and enhance teaching skills
  • Serve on faculty committees and participate in departmental activities as assigned
  • Utilize digital anatomy media such as Sectra, Anatomage, or similar technologies in the RUSM digital anatomy lab environment

Note: Responsibilities may vary based on rank (Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor) and specific departmental needs.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Anatomical Sciences or board eligible/certified MD, MBBS, or DO in a related discipline
  • For Instructor rank: Fully qualified medical practitioner (MD, MBBS or equivalent) with post-graduate clinical experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of anatomical sciences (gross anatomy, histology, embryology, neuroanatomy/neurosciences, cell biology)
  • Ability to relate anatomical concepts to clinical scenarios
  • Experience with digital anatomy media (e.g., Sectra, Anatomage) preferred
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Flexibility and ability to work well in a team
  • Prior teaching experience at a North American or UK medical school preferred
  • Educational technology skills, including e-learning management systems and online examinations
  • Desire for self-improvement and ongoing faculty development in medical education
