The Manager, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering facilitates successful product launches as the Operations Team Leader for NPD Projects. Lead team in Design Transfer, develop processes, move products to manufacture, ensure COGS accuracy, coordinate Operations tasks. Consistently meets expectations while ensuring group is accomplishing tasks and, meeting goals and objectives in a timely manner. Possesses leadership skills as both a project leader/manager and team leader. Works with NPD Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team in a role doing various functions which support product launches in their day-to-day activities.

What will you be doing?

  • Provides project leadership and management for NPD Projects and Initiatives.
  • Managers requisitions related to project expenditures or team expenses as appropriate.
  • Manages a team of engineers; adapts, plans, and priorities to meet service and/or operational challenges. Staff mentoring and career development across a range of experienced individual contributors.
  • Establishes critical performance drivers for engineering group.
  • Presents project proposals/status to management and executive staff.
  • Manages expenses related to capital projects.
  • Determines resource requirements/allocation of engineering staff to accomplish objectives.
  • Provides project leadership and technical expertise to effectively manage activities associated with production teams and multi-functional project teams.
  • Uses tact and diplomacy to exchange information and handle critical issues. Guides, influences, and persuades others internally in other areas.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Technical Degree in Science, Technology or Engineering.
  • Seven (7) plus years' experience in a manufacturing and/or engineering related field.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams.
  • Experience with MS Office products.
  • Experience with Agile, Matrix, SAP, or other PLM Software.
  • Experience drawing packages, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and others.
  • Experience in either in medical device/biopharma or consulting work on medical device/biopharma projects.
Competences:
  • Uses structured problem-solving and decision-making techniques to assist the project team.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • The ability to understand, interpret, follow, and improve Quality Systems.
  • Knowledge of Design Control & Process Validation
  • Strong understanding of Operations work / documentation
  • Develop multi-functional relationships with manufacturing operations and quality groups.
  • Medical device experience is preferred.
  • The employee is also required to interact with a computer, and connect with leadership, peers, and co-workers.
  • Able to communicate effectively.
  • Lead effectively in a matrix organization.
Physical Demands:
  • Able to lift 10-15 pounds, Extended periods of time doing computer-based work.
