Job Summary
This remote position will be reporting to the Senior Tax Director. The Senior Manager- Domestic Tax, will be responsible for assisting the Senior Tax Director with tax accounting on a quarterly and annual basis. In addition to reviewing federal and state corporate tax returns, this leader will provide on-going support for tax audits and financial statement audits throughout the year and will participate in various federal and state tax planning projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing/reviewing the quarter-end and year-end tax accounting reporting process, including researching, documenting positions, managing tax technology solutions to automate, and streamline the tax provision process.
- Assist in preparing/reviewing journal entries related to the Company's merger, acquisition, and disposition activity, including purchase accounting adjustments.
- Assist in the implementation of complex tax projects including reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, post-acquisition tax integration and other key tax initiatives.
- Assist the Senior Director, Tax in partnering with other business functions to identify and implement tax planning opportunities.
- Reviewing the consolidated federal and the separate/combined state income and franchise tax returns for the Company's U.S. business, including identifying tax filing opportunities which minimize the Company's cash taxes
- Reviewing of federal and state estimated and extension payments.
- Reviewing the Company's federal and state R&D tax credits
- Assist in gathering information to support the IRS tax audit, including responding to IDRs.
- Develop and build relationships with Corporate Accounting and business units to create an awareness of tax department reporting needs, as well as those of the entire company.
- Ensure that quarterly and annual tax compliance procedures comply with required SOX control objectives.
- Keep current on tax law changes, interpretations that may have impact or implications on the company.
- Assist in researching applicable federal and state tax statutes, regulations and other authority using BNA or similar tax research programs.
- Mentoring and helping in the development of tax staff.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. CPA and/or MST preferred.
- 7+ years corporate tax experience; 5 years ASC 740 experience; consolidated return experience
- Experience with M&A, both asset and stock deals, specifically tax aspects of purchase accounting.
- Strong background in tax process/systems/software; experience with One Source-OTP and/or Corp Tax compliance is a strong plus.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
This position will be remotely based in the United States, preferably East or Central, with anticipated travel of up to 25%.
The pay range for this role is $165,000-$195,000. The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Ingersoll Rand, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
