The Rutgers Center for Psychiatric Health & Genomics (
CPHG,
https://cphg.rutgers.edu/) is conducting a cluster recruitment initiative for assistant/associate/full professors to lead four specific research programs focused on genomics and related areas of research on psychiatric disorders. The faculty will have an academic appointment in the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Department of Psychiatry.
The Rutgers
CPHG is seeking faculty to lead new research program in Genes and Environment, Neurodevelopment, Population Genetics, Mood and Anxiety, Psychosis, and
OCD. The faculty will be expected to build and lead collaborative, interdisciplinary research teams focused on the genomics in behavioral health, supported by robust extramural funding, leading to consequential contributions to scholarship and advancements in the field of medicine. Candidates are required to have training and expertise in the specific areas of their program. |

In keeping with the mission of
CPHG and supported by the
CPHG Director, the faculty will seek to integrate these research initiatives systemwide as appropriate to include Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (
UBHC), University Correctional Health Care (
UCHC), Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (
NJMS), Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (
RWJMS) and Rutgers Brain Health Institute to further the strategic mission of the departments and the larger institution. Additionally, the faculty shall demonstrate leadership in the area of genomics and health, evidenced through participation in and leadership of regional, national and international research consortia and partnership with government and public health entities.
Specic responsibilities of the faculty include the development and implementation of collaborative research, training, curricular and academic initiatives through
CPHG and supported by significant extramural funding; participation in and leadership of regional, national and international research efforts in genomic health through production of academic scholarship and participation in professional academic associations and conferences, research consortia, and partnership with public and private research funding agencies; and related teaching and administrative contributions within the Department of Psychiatry.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
The candidate is required to have an MD or PhD in genomics or related field. The candidate must have experience in leading collaborative, consortia-based research projects, prior history of grant funding, and a productive manuscript record appropriate to faculty rank.
Experience teaching and mentoring pre-doctoral, post-doctoral, medical students and/or resident trainees is preferred. |
