Reporting to the Sr. Associate Dean for Finance and Administration at Rutgers Business School.

The position responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

  • Office management, program coordination, and budgeting processes for the Dean's office and other supported departments.
  • Provides executive administrative support to the Sr. Executive Associate, Sr Associate Dean and Vice Dean's in the Dean's Office which will include data collection and analysis for the Dean's Office.
  • Oversees and coordinates administrative functions and operations for the RBS-Newark and New Brunswick Dean's Office, including, but not limited to, front-office operations, business, accounting, personnel, events, payroll, and communications.
  • Develops and implements plans on time and within budget. Coordinate, manage, track, and submit contractor forms, ensure policies are followed, complete background checks, contracts signed, and various forms of staff payment are signed and executed.


One position is located on our Livingston Campus in Piscataway and the other position is located at the Newark Campus. Travel between campuses is required for both positions.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, work organization, coordination, facilitation, bookkeeping, and/or report writing principles and practices.
  • Also requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication skills, and computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to multitask as many programs run simultaneously and there will be continuous interaction with students.
  • Master's degree preferred. Familiarity with Rutgers computing programs including IMS and Degree Navigator is preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
  • Must be able to lift and move boxes (up to 25 lbs)
  • This position must have the ability and willingness to travel between campuses. This position may require evening and weekend hours.
