Summary:
SKF Aerospace, a leader in aviation related bearings, is looking for talented individuals to support its North American units producing components, bearings, rings and seals for the Aerospace & Defense industry, as well as for industrial & commercial applications. One of our units is dedicated to bearing repair services for Aeroengines & Airline customers. Those units are located in Falconer, NY / Colebrook, CT / Ladson, SC / Elgin, IL and are all facing interesting challenges to meet a significant market growth for the coming years.
We are looking for a Factory IT Manager, based in Falconer, NY reporting to the Factory Manager. This role is expected to align IT strategy with the overall business goals and objectives for the factory and develop IT polices and standards to ensure compliance and security in line with SKF regional IT and Global IT. Key areas of focus will include upgrading ERP systems, building a robust factory reporting solution utilizing modern tools such as Snowflake/PowerBI and overseeing the design/maintenance of the factory's IT infrastructure. Individual will participate in or lead many ad-hoc projects, analyze business activities, enhancing our planning capabilities (ERP), and assist in the training and user support of not only the XA MAPICS system, TLAshford & other systems that support the plant operations.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Factory IT Manager to oversee and manage the IT infrastructure, application landscape of our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems, implementing automation technologies, and enhancing production efficiency. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of factory operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the factory IT modernization roadmap, ensure the roadmap aligns with the factory's long-term strategic goals.
- Identifying and assessing emerging technologies and their impact on the factory's operation
- Translate ERP data structure/reports into business insights for supply chain, manufacturing, and finance
- Coordinating the design and implementation of the factory IT infrastructure including network, server, and telecommunication systems
- Supporting implementation and maintaining of XA10 including troubleshooting, end-user training, and ensuring data integrity
- Guide the development and improvement of operational business intelligence (BI) and Art3mis MES, industry 4.0 future factory implementation
- Implementing and enforcing cyber security polices and procedures
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards such as ISO 27001, ITAR, and NIST cyber security framework
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in IT management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, ERP systems (XA10, COM etc), cybersecurity, MES systems and related application in a factory set up.
- 3+ years' of hands-on experience with XA 9.1/9.2/10 ERP system and IBM iSeries platform (AS/400)
- 3+ years' experience with Data models and Querywork (SQL)and associated Data extraction techniques (ODBC, etc)
- 3+ years' experience in manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain environment
- 2+ years' experience in an analytical role
- Experience with Snowflake and PowerBI will be an advantage
- Detail oriented, advanced analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment where a premium is placed on speed and accuracy
- Ability to work independent of supervision and quickly adapt to changing priorities
- Must be a team player and possess the willingness and commitment to accomplish team goals
- Strong oral & written communication skills
- Competent with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, Access etc.)
- Fluency in the English language. Must be able to obtain in minimal time the necessary credentials to comply with all federal export control requirements (US citizen or a US permanent resident.)
Preferred:
- Experience with Aerospace business requirements
- Experience with manufacturing processes
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information systems, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management, or related field is required, Master's degree preferred.
Travelling:
- The chosen candidate is required flexibility to travel (up to 10% in average) to visit stakeholders, clarify requirements and better understand business processes in use.
