Overview

The Senior Digital Operations and Payments is a key member of the Digital Operations and Payments team in the Deposit Services department, reporting to the Digital Operations and Payments Manager. This role provides advanced expertise in retail digital banking, payment systems, wire transfer processing, and account reconciliation while contributing to digital banking and payments projects. Additionally, they serve as a resource for team members, help foster cross-department collaboration, and work to provide operational excellence in digital banking and payment processing.



Responsibilities

Retail Digital Banking

    Serve as a senior subject matter expert for all digital banking services, including online banking, Bill Pay, Zelle, Instant Payments (RTP and FedNow), and other digital banking and payment solutions.
  • Assist with complex issue resolution with the bank's service providers, primarily Fiserv, ensuring efficient case management and timely resolution.
  • Supports associates on digital banking processes and tools, promoting continuous learning and excellence.
  • Collaborate with other departments and project managers to implement new digital banking solutions that align with organizational goals.
  • Stays up to date with Fiserv publications and updates, helps to identify potential impacts, and prepare the team for changes.
  • Recommend improvements in fraud prevention and account security.

Wire Processing

  • Process incoming and outgoing wire transfers accurately and timely using Payments Exchange, Fedline, or FIRE in compliance with Wire Transfer Policies and Procedures.
  • Act as the primary resource for complex wire processing issues, providing training and support as needed.
  • Monitor and reconcile correspondent account balances to prevent outstanding items.
  • Looks for opportunities in wire processing efficiency and accuracy through process enhancements and best practices.

Reconciliation of Accounts

  • Assist with balancing and reconciling complex accounts, including Miscellaneous General Ledger, DDA, SAV, COD, and correspondent bank accounts.
  • Analyze and promptly resolve discrepancies by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Mentor team members in account reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Team Support

  • Act as the team lead in the manager's absence by making informed decisions, delegating tasks, and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members, sharing advanced knowledge and fostering professional development.
  • Collaborate with the manager to identify and implement improvements.

Quality Client Service

  • Provide exceptional client service by addressing complex issues and offering innovative solutions to enhance satisfaction.
  • Serve as an escalation point for client and team concerns, ensuring thorough investigation and resolution.
  • Support strategies to improve client service, operational productivity, and team efficiency.

Adhere to all Bank Security/Compliance Regulations

  • Complete all annual bank security and compliance training.
  • Adhere to Bank Security/compliance and policy guidelines for compliance area.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information at all times.
  • Stay current on all compliance regulations.

Other Responsibilities

  • Help manage departmental project, including implementations, system upgrades, and cleanup efforts.
  • Maintain and update procedure manuals, storage protocols, and retention policies.
  • Represent the bank in professional and community activities.
  • Actively participate in training programs to stay updated on industry trends and technologies.
  • Partner effectively across all levels of the organization and develop positive working relationships.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or requested.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in deposit operations, digital banking systems, and/or wire transfer processing within a financial institution.
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complex issues independently.
  • Strong knowledge of financial products, services, and reconciliation processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven leadership and collaboration abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software; quick to adapt to new technologies.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Fiserv systems and digital payment solutions.
  • Proven track record of driving operational improvements and leading projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of compliance regulations related to digital banking and wire transfers.
