Title: Law Library Associate / Legal Librarian / Librarian / Library Assistant Position Type: 6+ Months Contract Pay Rate: $15/hr. on W2 without benefits Location: West Palm Beach FL, 33401 Job Description: This is entry level paraprofessional work in the Law Library. An employee in a position allocated to this class is responsible for providing reference assistance services to patrons of the Law Library and processing materials for distribution. Work requires some knowledge of legal terminology and research techniques. Work is performed under the direction of the Manager, Law Library and the Law Library Associate II with some latitude for discretion in carrying out assignments. Provides reference assistance within established policies and procedures. Answers questions in person and over the phone. Introduces patrons to reference books and tools. Assists in the location of materials. Assists with maintenance of collection, straightens and shelves books, etc. May conduct computer search assistance. Performs related work as required. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Some knowledge of legal and reference bibliography. Some knowledge of legal terminology and research techniques. Ability to use a PC. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patrons. Minimum Entrance Requirements: Graduation from high school or any equivalent recognized certification; two (2) years of related college level course work; or any equivalent combination of related training and experience.
