Description and Requirements

The OEM Solution Architect will engage with OEM customers, partners, sales, and Lenovo product teams to evaluate, test, and drive technical requirements for complex OEM solution offerings. While Lenovo's OEM business leverages its existing portfolio of products, there are many opportunities to customize offerings for unique OEM solutions, and the role of the Solution Architect will help OEM customers and sales teams evaluate and understand what is possible and how best to execute on technical solution requirements. The Solution Architect will also develop technical relationships with key alliance partners, suppliers, and integrators in the ecosystem to ensure Lenovo is in the best technical posture to meet the needs of the market. The Solution Architect will have responsibility for requirements input to Lenovo product development teams and will engage in specific testing and certifications for the OEM business.

This OEM Solution Architect position is a technical pre-sales/relationship role supporting Lenovo's OEM sales teams. You will be a technical solutions adviser as customers look to Lenovo to develop solutions to address their business needs. You will be integral to the sales teams for opportunity identification, solution planning/design, and all technical elements of the sales opportunity. You are Lenovo's technical arbiter with the customer, external partners, and with our internal teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Gather and understand customer technical requirements through communications with customer's offering and technical teams
  • Document customer requirements and gain concurrence from customer to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Develop/ architect solution by working with internal & external partners to solve the customers business problems / requirements
  • Evaluate customer solution for optimization and best alignment to Lenovo products/services
  • Set and manage expectations around solutions, internally and externally
  • Assist with test plans and stay engaged with customer, internal & external teams during solution development
  • Understand emerging technologies and products and Lenovo's strategies to address them
  • Collaborate with customers, sales team and extended Lenovo teams
  • Collaborate with Sales and the customer to drive quarterly business reviews with key accounts
  • Gather feedback from customers on current products and relay that to the Lenovo Business Units for improvement of future generations of product
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline
  • 10+ years industry experience
  • Previous experience as a pre-sale's solutions architect required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Intel x86 system architecture, Networking, storage and GPU solutions highly desired.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux device management high desired
  • Experience working with Intel ISA and ecosystem partner alliance nice to have
  • Excellent, professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
This position supports sales teams but is not a sales role and does not include a commission-based compensation structure. Instead, this role offers a competitive base salary plus a performance-based bonus of 12%.
This is a remote position and we are looking for someone based in the Kansas area.
