Responsibilities:
- Trailer Spotting: - Safely maneuver trailers to and from loading docks and designated areas in the yard. - Ensure accurate placement of trailers for efficient loading and unloading. - Coordination: - Communicate effectively with truck drivers, warehouse personnel, and shipping staff to ensure smooth operations. - Direct the movement of vehicles in the yard, ensuring safety and compliance with company policies. - Safety Compliance: - Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while operating equipment and directing traffic. - Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any issues to management. - Documentation: - Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, loading/unloading activities, and any incidents. - Assist in completing shipping and receiving paperwork as needed. - General Support: - Assist in loading and unloading goods as required, using forklifts or other material handling equipment. - Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized and efficient shipping and receiving area.
Qualifiations: - High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics or warehouse operations is a plus. - Previous experience in shipping and receiving, logistics, or a related field preferred. - Valid driver's license and, if applicable, forklift certification. Preferred Skills: - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. - Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
