Essential Job Duties
The primary purpose of the Research Chemist position is to prepare and optimize the preparation of a new nutritional supplement that encapsulates nutritional minerals into a cellulose matrix. The nature of the preparation/encapsulation allows us to target the mineral delivery to needed locations along the animal's digestive tract.

The specific project includes funding for further development of the product formulation, optimization of preparative conditions, and sufficient manufacture of product to conduct animal trials in poultry. The specific chemistry involves aqueous inorganic chemistry that interfaces with cellulose encapsulation chemistry. While working in this department/unit, you will be expected to foster a supportive and welcoming environment.

Requirements and Preferences


Work Schedule 30-40 hours per week depending on research. Flexible work arrangements may be available.
Other Work/Responsibilities

  • Scale up product synthesis.
  • Perform experimental studies to optimize/control the mineral content in the product.
  • Perform experimental studies to optimize total atom efficiency in product preparation.
  • Perform experimental studies to evaluate mineral release from each formulation.
  • Maintain meticulous records of experimental studies and research data.
  • Interface with the team of animal nutrition, regulatory and business experts.

Minimum Experience/Education
  • Undergraduate degree in Chemistry (or related field), with a minimum of 3 years of post graduate experience (either graduate study or commercial laboratory experience).
