Job Summary Are you ready to take on a leadership role in one of the most impactful water infrastructure programs in the mid-Atlantic region? We are seeking a Wastewater Senior Project Manager (Senior Design Lead) to join our team and play a vital role in the Clean Rivers Program in Washington, DC.

In this position, you will lead turnkey water infrastructure projects from concept through construction, transforming innovative designs into reality while making a lasting impact on the region's water systems. As part of the TYLin team, you will work alongside the Program Manager at the DC Clean Rivers Project field office (Blue Plains) to oversee one of the largest Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) tunnel projects in the area.

What You'll Do:

As a Wastewater Senior Project Manager (Senior Design Lead) you will:

  • Lead and manage sewer engineering design and consulting teams on complex projects, including hydraulic and hydrologic calculations, utility plans, technical specifications, preliminary and final designs, bid assistance, design services during construction (DSDC), infrastructure condition assessment, rehabilitation, and cost estimating for pump stations, pipelines, treatment plants, and stormwater systems.
  • Oversee engineering projects by developing work delivery plans that manage resources, budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client engagement.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple technical assignments, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements.
  • Review engineering designs, bid packages, RFPs, and Statements of Work prepared by others in support of the client's Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) implementation.
  • Assist in providing Program Management Services, including CIP planning, budgeting, scheduling, project bundling and prioritization, managing project delivery, overseeing multiple consultants and contractors, overseeing data management, and providing technical advisory services and staff augmentation for large water and wastewater programs.
  • Mentor and guide TYLin staff, fostering their professional growth while upholding company core values.
  • Conduct regular meetings and present project deliverables to clients.

Who You Are:

  • A licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with the ability to reciprocate licenses in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
  • A civil engineering professional with a B.S. degree (M.S. preferred) and 12+ years of experience managing water and wastewater engineering design projects and teams.
  • Experienced in overseeing the development and implementation of design and construction contract documents for complex infrastructure projects.
  • Skilled in program management, including CIP planning, budgeting, scheduling, project delivery, consultant and contractor management, technical advisory services, and staff augmentation for large water and wastewater programs.
  • Client-focused, always striving to deliver the best solutions.
