Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking an individual to lead our industrial mechanical team. Responsibilities include assigning projects to staff and monitoring workload; handling administrative functions such as approvals, performance evaluations, and pay recommendations; monitor and address staff performance; manage projects and/or provide technical oversight; assist with review and approval of project budgets including billing and invoicing; coordinate, evaluate and recommend training to further develop staff; negotiate and/or administer contracts; remain current on relevant technical and management issues.

Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Food & Beverage Engineering team as an Senior Electrical Engineer. Typical work will be as an individual or a team working on manufacturing capital improvement projects of varying size directly for Food and Beverage clients. Some travel will be required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a lead engineer on more complex projects
  • Provide technical mentorship to less experienced staff
  • Provide feedback and update design standards for calculations, sizing and best practices
  • Prepare and perform QA/QC of plans and specifications for bidding and construction
  • Support the development of probable cost estimates for projects
  • Design of low and medium voltage power systems (Including Motor Control Centers, Back-Up Generators and UPS systems)
  • Design of lighting and associated control systems for manufacturing, industrial and general commercial spaces
  • Design of fire alarm and mass notification systems
  • Layout of low-voltage structured cabling raceways and devices
  • Perform periodic construction site visits
  • Some travel is required

Qualifications/Requirements:

The successful candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience
  • PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in other states

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

  • Experience with 3D building modeling (Revit preferred)
  • Experience with lighting design software (AGI32 preferred)
  • Experiences with Power design software (SKM Power Tools and/or EasyPower preferred)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Ability to prepare construction documents
  • Experience coordinating engineering documentation
  • Knowledge of codes, statutes, and laws related to building design and construction
