The Department of Cell Physiology and Molecular Biophysics, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, is seeking an Assistant Professor (non-tenure-track) to develop a research program in the molecular biophysics of pancreatic secretion.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Utilize state-of-the-art advanced optical microscopic and spectroscopic approaches to characterize the dynamic molecular organization and interactions of membrane receptors in pancreatic islet cells, and how these phenomena affect downstream signaling, secretory behaviors, and regulation of glucose homeostasis.


Occasional Duties


Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Biophysics, or related discipline.
  • At least four years of postdoctoral experience.
  • Experience in fluorescence fluctuation spectroscopy (FFS), total internal reflection (TIRF) microscopy, light sheet fluorescence microscopy (LSFM), super-resolution microscopy, fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) spectroscopy, fluorescence cross-correlation spectroscopy (FCCS).
  • Experience in mouse pancreatic extraction and subsequent preparation of viable single-cell islet cell suspensions.
