Position description

The Division of Critical Care in the Department of Pediatrics of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is seeking an Assistant Project Scientist. The appointment will be in the Project Scientist series. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

This position requires a Ph.D. or equivalent and prior experience. This is a Non-Senate position.

This position will report to the Critical Care Division Chief and will require participation in a variety of professional activities, including:



  • Designing and executing scientific experiments, developing new assays as needed, writing manuscripts, writing and/or assisting in writing grant submissions, teaching in the laboratory or classroom as deemed appropriate by the supervisor.
  • Working with animals, human subjects, tissues, general laboratory management, generating scientific data, analyses, and manuscript/grant writing.
  • Maintain an accurate and legible record of all the research work, maintain and manage chemical/hazardous inventory, submit and/or assist with submission of Biosafety, animal ethics, IRB protocols.

The salary range for this position is $74,100 - $94,200.
