The Senior Vice President of the Retail Banking Division is primarily responsible for directing the day-to-day tactical and strategic aspects of the retail business line, branch network, and all initiatives to assure successful service delivery and strategy fulfillment. Responsibilities of the position include deposit and Online Banking services, project management, new product initiatives and implementation research and development, customer service and delivery systems, vendor management (third party providers), administer core deposit system/application, retail branch security, staff development , education and training and performance management. Understands and exhibits the discipline, focus and continuous improvements acumen required to deliver on three mission critical areas: a customer-centric service experience, increased revenues, and process efficiencies. Preparation and/or oversight of detailed reports for committees or executive management. Operate as a key change agent and member of the senior leadership team with a key emphasis on related risk management and regulatory compliance.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:


Administrative:

  • Responsible for managing the production activities of the Retail Division to include the development of staff, products, and services to attract and retain retail and commercial customers.
  • Directs and supervises work of banking personnel; determines work priorities and schedules work assignments; interviews and recommends candidates; evaluates, orients, counsels, and trains subordinate personnel and recommends associated personnel actions.
  • Defines objectives; develops operating plan, including budgets and manpower requirements, in compliance with executive management decisions.
  • Identifies, develops, and recommends revision of internal standards, policies, operating procedures, and new programs to improve efficiency; provides staff with clear and concise written guidelines.
  • Develop a successful culture with operational policies and procedures needed to ensure continued success.
  • Contract negotiations with vendors and major business partners
  • Work effectively across all departments to achieve successful results


Functional:

  • Collaborates as a member of the leadership team on bank-wide strategic planning initiatives and corporate direction.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations that impact the Retail Department; Ensures that staff maintains resources for associate training to fulfill industry compliance, guidance, and regulations.
  • Participates in appropriate committees; visits branches (as needed).
  • Analyzes all levels of branch activity and provides related information/reports to the Bank's Leadership Team and the Board.
  • Identifies questionable actions, operational inefficiencies, and collaborates with associates to resolve or improve.
  • Uses knowledge of bank services to develop and/or refer potential customers to the appropriate bank associates.
  • Participates in appropriate executive development and training programs.
  • Participates in community organizations and events to enhance the image and reputation of the Bank in the communities we serve or plan to serve.
  • Other projects and/ or duties as assigned.



Position Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of all retail banking products and services, policies, and procedures and related regulations including reporting and Audit requirements; Knowledge of deposit compliance and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to make complex decisions regarding a variety of financial activities.
  • Strong inclination toward new business development and track record of significant success in establishing new customer relationships; proven sales abilities and success.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to deal effectively with external corporate executives and Company's executive and senior management.
  • Moderate computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Advanced written, oral, and interpersonal skills.



This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in a business-related discipline and/or 15 years in retail banking experience including 10 years in a management role, or an equivalent in experience (15 years).
