IT Intern (Anchorage)

What You Will Do:

As an IT Intern, you will play an essential role within our Anchorage IT department, reporting to the Sr. Manager of Infrastructure & Applications Operations. The IT Intern, under direct supervision, is responsible for providing basic technical support to end-users for software applications, hardware, and networking needs. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Provide initial contact point for technical support, training for desktop applications, and computer hardware and software.
• Maintain IT service requests and incident tickets, escalating and assigning to other technicians as necessary.
• Build/image computers using prescribed tools and processes.

What You Will Bring:

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two or more years of technical, security, and/or customer support experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and Microsoft Windows 10/11 OS.
• Working knowledge of networking.
• Must possess a valid Alaska Driver's License and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the ENSTAR's Driving Policy.
• Ability to pass a background, past employment, credit, drug, and driving record screening.

Preferred skills and qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written to deal effectively with a variety of interpersonal relationships and situations.
• Good working knowledge of information technology.
• Ability to learn new applications and skills.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and judgement skills with the ability to confidentially process and maintain data.
• Ability to be self-motivated.
