The State Highway Administration's (SHA) District 5 is currently recruiting for a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Supervisor I in Frederick County. This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy and may be used to fill current and future vacancies in this classification.
Nature of Work: The main purpose of this position is to supervise the maintenance, repairs, fabrication, body repair, and painting work on motor vehicles, diesel powered equipment, and heavy construction equipment. This position supervises a staff of heavy equipment mechanics and other personnel which may at times include body repair/painters and others.

Special Requirements:
- Employees in this class may be required to have satisfied the Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician III level of the employing administration's certification program.
- Employees may be required to obtain all Environmental Protection Agency or federal licenses that are required to perform duties (example: an air conditioning Freon license) during their probationary period.
- Employees who are required to function in the capacity of Commercial Vehicle Inspector may be required to obtain and maintain their Commercial Vehicle Inspector's License.
- Employees may be required to obtain special supervisory certification.
