Overview

BAI, a Defense contractor, seeks candidates to serve as Test Engineers with 3+ years of experience for a Department of Defense (DoD) program at the Naval Base Point Mugu located near Camarillo, CA. Salary

The typical annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 USD to $110,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.



Responsibilities

    Test Strategy Development: Provide subject matter expert guidance in creating and implementing test strategies, plans, and methodologies for Mission Planning Systems
  • Training Guide Development: Develop comprehensive, easy-to-understand training guides and materials on testing methodologies, tools, and processes across multiple MPEs
  • Reviewing Test Plans & Reports: Review and provide feedback on test plans, test case designs, and test reports to ensure they meet NAVAIR standards, business requirements, and best practices. Ensure comprehensive coverage, accurate reporting, and clarity in documentation across the Mission Planning product line
  • Test Design & Execution: Support the design and execution of test cases, ensuring alignment with Mission Planning Systems product requirements and use cases. Identify areas for test automation and improve testing efficiency
  • Mentorship and Training: Mentor junior engineers and other test team members, providing training on best practices, tools, and methodologies that are in alignment with NAVAIR Test and Evaluation standards
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning within the testing team.Develop and execute software tests to identify software problems and their causes
  • Test system modifications to prepare for implementation
  • Create and maintain databases of known defects
  • Perform regression testing to prepare software for distribution, installation and use on DoD approved systems
  • Document software and application defects using a bug tracking system and report defects to software or web developers
  • Assess performance and prepare reports capturing environment errors, malfunctions, and system anomalies
  • Prepare for and support enhanced developmental testing events involving end-user participation
  • Working at the customer's site with government personnel to ensure program success


Qualifications

  • Between 3 to 10 years of experience performing the duties described in the functional description
  • Knowledge of Joint Mission Planning Systems
  • Knowledge and implementation of NAVAIR Test and Evaluation standards for Test Planning and Reporting
  • Expertise in producing Detailed Method of Tests and development of Test Point Matrices
  • Knowledge in handling and testing with COMSEC equipment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word skills

Education

BS or BA degree in a Computer or Information Science field or a relevant technical discipline.

ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: An additional 6 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree, or 4 additional years of work experience with a relevant Associate's Degree.

Clearance

Condition of employment - must have an active DoD Secret Clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Citizenship

The applicant must have US citizenship at time of application.
