About the Job

The Rural Physician Associate and Metropolitan Physician Associate Program (RPAP and MetroPAP) is seeking a dedicated and organized Education Program Associate to join our team. This role provides necessary operational support, executes student academic progress monitoring support, tracks data for our educational programs, and works collaboratively on projects. The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and communication skills, and a passion for fostering student and program success. This role reports directly to the RPAP/MetroPAP Director and will also receive regular guidance and direction from the Educational Programs Specialist and Programs Operations Specialist.

Duties/Responsibilities

50%: Student Academic Support and Tracking

  • Assist the Educational Programs Specialist to inform and deliver effective academic progress tracking and support for RPAP and MetroPAP students.
  • Track and contribute to reports on student assignment submissions, evaluations, attendance and program completion data.
  • Communicate with students, primarily via email, regarding course progress on a predetermined cadence. Escalate student questions or concerns to appropriate team members as needed.
  • Support the Programs Operations Specialist in tracking and executing student onboarding data collection for RPAP/MetroPAP, the Summer Internship in Medicine (SIM) program, and the Rural Observation Experience (ROE), ensuring compliance with Medical School policies as well as FERPA and HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide assistance with program activities such as orientation, didactic sessions and simulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

30%: Data Coordination

  • Collate and share student progress and survey data with stakeholders as directed.
  • Provide support in the build out of reports and dashboards to communicate student data, program outcomes data, and stakeholder data.
  • Support the Programs Operations Specialist to maintain and update various databases, including the alumni database and clinical site database.
  • Assist with gathering clinical training site information. Ensure data is accurate and retrievable, and distribute data as requested. Identify issues and suggest process improvements.
  • Assist the Educational Programs Specialist with research data management.

20%: Communication

  • Triage email communications received in the team email inbox.
  • Review and revise program materials as assigned, to include the annual RPAP/MetroPAP Preceptor Manual which outlines program policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Utilize communications technologies to prepare and submit faculty and instructor appointment documentation.
  • With guidance from the Programs Operations Specialist, will serve as the point of contact for internal stakeholders around family medicine courses outside of the RPAP/MetroPAP programs that utilize rural and urban underserved community sites.
  • Provide support as needed for alumni mailing and external communications.
  • Support primary care/family medicine and rural/urban pathway program recruitment.
Qualifications

  • BA/BS with at least 2 years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal six years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and Google Workplace Applications.
  • Experience with data management.
  • Experience with virtual communication tools and remote work environments.
About the Department

The Rural Physician Associate Program (RPAP) is a nine-month, community-based educational experience for University of Minnesota third-year medical students who live and train in rural communities across Minnesota and western Wisconsin. RPAP students experience hands-on learning as they care for patients of all ages. Similarly, the Metropolitan Physician Associate Program (MetroPAP) is a nine-month clerkship for third-year medical students who want to serve patients in urban communities, providing a strong clinical curriculum in an urban-based primary care practice and hospital.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $42,500 - $55,000; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment

Work Location: Hybrid; 1-2 days in person per week
