Position Overview

The Electrical Designer will be responsible for designing facility-related electrical distribution systems, interior and exterior lighting, and emergency backup systems. Reporting to the Electrical Practice Lead and relevant Project Managers, this role will participate in project teams to develop designs and support the successful delivery of electrical systems in construction projects.


Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the Electrical Designer on projects with electrical design scope across various disciplines.
  • Develop technical drawings and specifications for electrical work.
  • Ensure coordination between electrical, mechanical, and plumbing system designs.
  • Provide advisory support during the construction phase.
  • Conduct site surveys as required.
  • Monitor project schedules and production to ensure timely completion within budget.
  • Maintain high-quality standards in all project deliverables.
  • Participate in internal and external project meetings as needed.


Secondary Functions:

  • Support requests from the Electrical Practice Lead.
  • Provide assistance across business areas as needed.

Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements
Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Experience or ability to learn:

    • AGI32 or Visual within four months of hire
    • Applicable codes related to electrical design


  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Detail-oriented and safety-focused
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster productive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors


Education & Experience:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in a technical capacity with increasing responsibility


Additional Requirements:

  • Valid state driver's license (any U.S. state) and ability to maintain a safe driving record
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to pass pre-hire drug testing and background checks
  • Ability to meet worksite security requirements, including:

    • Criminal background checks
    • DHS threat assessment evaluations
