Job Title:Engineer III - Compliance

Position Summary:

DLC Operations Compliance team (Team) provides support to DLC Operations personnel, including Operations Center, Substations field personnel, Asset Management, Engineering and Protection Engineering to ensure and maintain compliance with transmission reliability and security regulatory requirements, including NERC Reliability Standards applicable to DLC as well as requirements mandated by PJM, ReliabilityFirst, and the Pennsylvania PUC. This position will contribute their experience and technical knowledge to continue to position the Team to provide knowledgeable reliability and security compliance support across all of DLC Operations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Participate in a robust change control process for field assets, including entering change requests and working with field employees to document changes.

Perform field observations, audits, and walkdowns to verify compliance with applicable requirements

Review, update, and occasionally create DLC internal policies and procedures that support compliance.

Train personnel performing responsibilities that contribute to achieving compliance on applicable procedures and requirements, including preparing or assisting in preparing job aids and training materials as needed.

Assist personnel with developing, and participate in review of, the necessary documentation to provide evidence of compliance and participate in reviews of DLC internal controls.

Work with appropriate SMEs and representatives of DLC's Corporate Compliance group to investigate and document potential non-compliance.

Maintain awareness of changes in requirements or interpretations of requirements applicable to DLC, and if directed, work with appropriate SMEs to develop action plans for maintaining compliance.

Additional Responsibilities:

Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Storm team duties as assigned

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other relevant field of study plus 3 or more years of work experience.

Preferred:

Electric industry work experience and knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards.

Scope:

Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs and reporting. Typically accountable for managing one's own time and work flow. Responsible for using prescribed guidelines to analyze situations and solve problems. Work activities are typically moderate to complex in nature requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role. Continues to build knowledge base but has a solid foundation to act independently the majority of the time. Still draws on experts and managers when needed but less frequently.

Decision Impact:

Problems and issues faced are vague. Draws on past experience on a regular basis. Accountable for direct level of reasoning and decision making.

Skills/Abilities:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical subject matter. Familiarity with engineering drawings. Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities. Self-directed and resourceful, with demonstrated ability to generate ideas and problem solve; strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to be a strong member of a team as well as complete individual projects.
