RWE Clean Energy (RWECE) is a rapidly growing renewable energy owner/operator in North America. Our wind, solar, and battery energy storage assets combine to form a portfolio of 11GW. With a deep understanding of operations and engineering, the company's digital infrastructure needs are scaling up. The Digital Operations Engineerwill act as a digital and software engineering expert, focused on power generation, within the RWECE Operations & Asset Management department.

Role Responsibilities:

• Identify technical issues and inefficiencies and communicate them with Control Center Operations, SCADA Engineering, IT/OT, and other groups.
• Brainstorm, architect, code, test, and deploy new software solutions that comply with federal standards, ISO and market requirements, and software development best practices.
• Act as Solutions Engineer for internal customers within other departments.
• Develop, review, and critique code, databases, and structures, both existing and proposed.
• Act as point of contact for both the Operations department and other technical departments for questions about operational infrastructure.

Job Requirements and Experiences:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required
• Minimum of 4 years in engineering, software development, or related field required
• Experience building software solutions to resolve complex technical issues required
• Ability to communicate with and manage multiple stakeholders across multiple projects required
• Experience in power generation is strongly preferred
• Experience developing in Python and C# strongly preferred
• Preferred: Experience using time-series database structures.
• Preferred: Experience interacting with ISO and/or market interfaces.
• Preferred: Experience in a control room setting.
• Preferred: Experience in Automation Engineering or SCADA Engineering.
• Preferred: Experience with system integration and using APIs.
• Preferred: Experience with both on-premise and cloud computing.
• Preferred: Experience working within a scrum team on software development.
• This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE offices and field locations
• Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
