Radioisotope Power Systems Engineer HX5 is an award-winning provider of engineering, research and development, and technical services to clients such as NASA and the Department of Defense. HX5 is currently seeking a Radioisotope Power Systems / Electrical Engineer to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio in support of the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The selected candidate will provide engineering support to NASA's Glenn Research Center (GRC) to support the development of a Radioisotope Power Systems (RPS) to power the rovers and landers on the Lunar and Martian surfaces. The effort is focused on an electrically heated Stirling-based generator and subsystems for a space flight mission. Assigned duties will include testing of the hardware which would consist of a flight-equivalent microcontroller, ADCs, and housekeeping circuitry. Additionally, this work will involve radiation hardened part selection, assisting in identifying long lead procurements, BOM generation, enclosure design, and reviews. Required Skills:
