YOU

As a Building Technology Software Support Technician, you will be responsible for providing support for engineering and design services performing back checks and component review for projects submitted by Simpson Strong-Tie customers.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time)

Assist in completing reviews of truss and EWP component design - working with Simpson Strong-Tie Engineering/Design Services used by Simpson Strong-Tie building technology customers. (80%)

Provide remote technical support for branch building technology customers. (5%)

Test future software versions before releases to help improve Simpson Strong-Tie technology offering to better support regional needs. Communicate with the software development team providing feedback on testing. (5%)

Conduct customer health checks and coordinate with team and branch building technology customers about release notes, challenges, software updates, webinars, etc. (5%)

Assist with new customer implementation that includes preparing implementation materials and hardware, performing software installations, occasional on-site and remote training and continual customer support as needed to achieve customer proficiency. (5%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

If you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

  • 3 years - Relevant experience in truss and EWP industry and regional building practices, in addition to a general understanding of truss design and engineering.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft software environment including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and Powerpoint.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, BlueBeam Revu (PDF), Microsoft SQL Express and Simpson Strong-Tie software & web applications, and TechSmith SnagIt Editor, a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, see, talk, and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in both a professional office environment, customer sites and outdoor construction job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts. Noise level may be loud at times.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This job requires approximately 5% domestic travel.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, exempt position is fully remote. The ideal candidate will reside within the Northeastern region of the United States.

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY
$65,200 - $104,300 / year

* Posted pay range is based upon national average and may vary depending on geographical work location.
