Job Description

We are looking for a journeyman electrician or a seasoned electrician who has supported a corporate building. You will oversee installation and maintenance of all types of electrical equipment and systems such as unit substations, switch gear, panel boards, disconnects, starters, motor control systems, generators, uninterruptible power supplies, lighting systems, fire alarm systems, audio/visual, life safety equipment, kitchen, laboratory and manufacturing equipment, fiber optics systems and CAT5e/6 voice/data structured wiring communications cabling systems.

You will work with Rockwell personnel and outside contractors to identify, troubleshoot, isolate and repair failures in electrical systems. You will work onsite at our Milwaukee campus. You will report to the Facility Supervisor.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Ensures installations methods and techniques are in compliance with drawings and technical specifications.
  • Plans and coordinates infrastructure and equipment preventative maintenance schedules and activities.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
  • Provides budgetary electrical estimates for capital and expense projects.
  • As a member of the Emergency Response Team, assists with routine medical situations, building evacuations and monitoring of severe weather conditions to assure the safety of employees and visitors.
  • Assists project managers and engineers in resolving financial issues and works with project managers on process improvement.
  • Maintains an updated and detailed understanding of all ongoing capital projects, including overall timelines, funding sources and impacts on annual capital spending budgets.
  • Coordinates with Workplace Services (WPS) team members on small project installs.
  • Maintains and understands facilities related software associated with electrical facility maintenance (e.g. EnergyMetrix).
  • Manages energy savings program with support of the WPS team members.
  • Researches catalogs, Internet, and vendors for parts and supplies necessary for repairs and new installations.
  • Processes paperwork including purchase orders and invoices in a timely manner.
  • Assists in the development and achievement of departmental goals and objectives in support of the mission, vision, and values of Rockwell Automation.
  • Must be able to occasionally work overtime and weekends when required and will be placed on the calling tree for emergency call ins.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to travel 5% of the time
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Has working knowledge with electrical equipment and systems, including motors, controllers (e.g. variable frequence drives) programmable logic controllers, power monitors, medium voltage infrastructure, dual-fuel generators, fire alarms (e.g. Simplex 4100 ES), elevators, power systems (e.g. corner-grounded delta) lighting controls (e.g. Lutron) and theatrical equipment
  • 5+ years of experience with electrical systems in laboratories, manufacturing, data centers, auditoriums, office spaces or health care
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant state and local building codes and industry standards
  • Ability to read blueprints, equipment diagrams, and schematics
  • Experienced with providing data to calculate the cost of a project, including materials, labor, time, and overhead
  • Working knowledge in the areas of general maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of automated building control systems (e.g. Automated Logistics Systems)
  • Possess working knowledge with programming of programmable logic controllers and variable frequency drives. A knowledge of FactoryTalk, PLC-5, SLC 500 and Compact Logix software
  • Ability to work from a computerized maintenance management system (e.g. Archibus).
  • Experienced with AutoCAD
  • Experienced with SAP
  • Experienced in managing hazardous energy control, including developing and implementing Lockout/Tagout procedures and overseeing energization/de-energization sequences
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards and practices
  • Proficient in common computer functions and applications, such as Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
