Maine state licensure to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Masters Social Worker - Clinical Conditional (LMSW-CC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor - Conditional (LCPC-c), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - Conditional (LMFT-c)is required

We are seeking a Behavioral Health Clinician to join our passionate and dedicated care team of MaineHealth Behavioral Healthat Spring Harbor for our Child & Adolescent Unit. Fast paced, challenging work for the right clinician who enjoys working with a multi-disciplinary team.TheBehavioral Health Clinicianis a position for the professional social worker/clinical counselor that involve the evaluation of psychosocial needs of patients/clients and their families and provision of diagnostic/preventive and treatment user services including individual, family and group therapy. TheBehavioral Health Clinicianworks in collaboration with other health/mental health professionals and provides consultation to the treatment team regarding patient/family social and environmental needs. This work is performed under general supervision in accordance with institutional and social work/clinical counselor policies.

Set on 50 private acres,MaineHealth Behavioral Health at Spring Harbor, is southern Maine's only private psychiatric treatment and recovery center. Our inpatient programs for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults providehope for those who suffer from a variety of mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders (mental illness and substance use),as well as, Maine's only hospital treatment unit for youth who experience both mental illness and a developmental disorder, such as autism.

We are fortunate to have a unique collaboration withMaine Medical Center, which allows us to offer the most complete array of psychiatric treatment, physician-training, and medical-research programs north of Boston.

Summary

Level I:The role of Behavioral Health Clinician I, working under a conditional license, involves providing comprehensive care and support to clients with behavioral health needs. The key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing direct care through individual, group, and family therapy sessions. The counselor is also responsible for maintaining clinical records, collaborating with community providers, and participating in team meetings to ensure effective treatment and discharge planning. The Behavioral Health Clinician I will be under direct clinical supervision to work towards independent licensure.

Level II:The role of Behavioral Health Clinician II, working under an independent license, involves providing comprehensive care and support to clients with behavioral health needs. The key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing direct care through individual, group, and family therapy sessions.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Master's Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Addiction Treatment, or related field
  2. License/Certifications:Level I:LMSW-cc, LCPC-c, or LMFT-c from the respective licensing board of the State of Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR).Level II:Licensed LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT from the respective licensing board of the State of Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR)
  3. Experience:Level I:Behavioral health experience including internship prior to becoming a conditionally licensed clinician.Level II:At least two years of behavioral health experience including employment as a conditionally licensed clinician.
