THE JOB: As a Bartender, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences. Your responsibilities include having a thorough knowledge of the menu, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as ensuring the bar is well-maintained and inviting. With your warm smile and attentive service, you will create a welcoming atmosphere, tailoring each interaction to guests' unique preferences. By crafting memorable experiences, you will leave a lasting impression that extends beyond their time with us. THE STARTING RATE: $12.25 + direct tips
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring proper ingredient proportions by following standardized recipes, while also providing food service as needed. Maintain cleanliness and functionality of all bar equipment, tools, and supplies, ensuring the bar meets sanitation, appearance, and operational standards. Possess thorough knowledge of menu offerings, including liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages. Accurately ring in beverages, handle payments, and adhere to all cash-handling procedures, including preparing daily reports and submitting necessary paperwork. Train and mentor Apprentice Bartenders and Bar Porters, providing guidance on bar operations, guest service, and bartending techniques. Manage bar inventory in accordance with set pars and internal controls, requesting necessary stock to maintain proper levels. Address guest concerns within the scope of authority, escalating issues to management when necessary, and report any unusual events, missing items, or suspected theft to a supervisor or Security.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Knowledgeable of menu items, including mixture and serving beverages, standard beverage recipes, preparation methods, glassware, garnishes, products, menu items, supplies and equipment Knowledgeable of wine and champagne characteristics by the glass, major wines, designated glassware, terminology, and garnishes Able to take initiative and exhibit flexibility Highly motivated and energetic personality Knowledge of hotel services, features, local attractions and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately Excellent customer service skills as well as interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts Must be flexible to work varied shifts which include concerts and events on property (required) Has a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent (preferred) Two (2) years of experience in a bar or similar environment (preferred) Has previous experience working in a similar resort setting (preferred) Must be 21 years old or older
