Overview
UT Health Athens is a 127-licensed-bed facility with an average daily census of 60 patients. Our Surgery Department encompasses Day Surgery, Pre-Admission Testing (PAT), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Operating Room (OR), and Sterile Processing Department (SPD), supported by a dedicated team of 30 full-time equivalents (FTEs). We perform approximately 250 surgical cases each month across multiple specialties, including orthopedics, ENT, urology, pain management, podiatry, gynecology, and general surgery. Our orthopedic team utilizes the Mako robotic system, and we are preparing to expand into da Vinci robotic-assisted procedures for gynecology, urology, and general surgery. The ideal candidate will have experience with robotic surgery and a strong commitment to clinical excellence POSITION SUMMARY The Nurse Director is a professional registered nurse with twenty-four hour responsibility for assigned departments within established standards to achieve the mission and vision of the organization. The Nursing Director is responsible for overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the unit/departments and executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. The Nurse Director provides leadership and mentorship in the development of leaders and staff. The Nurse Director is responsible for monitoring and evaluating quality, patient satisfaction and employee satisfaction outcomes to implement strategies for improvement. The Nurse Director is a change agent, and will establish strong collaborative relationships with physicians.
