Job Description

Job Description

  • Design and implement a visionary strategy for the employee and labor relations program, aligning with El Camino Health's mission and goals.

  • Foster a collaborative work environment, managing employee grievances, negotiating labor agreements with multiple unions, and resolving conflicts in the workplace. L

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including union representatives, employees and executive leadership, to develop comprehensive employee and labor relations strategies. Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on employee and labor relations matters.

  • Oversee the entire scope of the employee and labor relations program, encompassing grievance handling, disciplinary actions, and dispute resolution.

  • Develop and deliver training programs on employee and labor relations policies and practices for staff and management. Monitor labor market trends and stay updated on changes in employee and labor regulations.

  • Ensure compliance with employee and labor laws and regulations, advising on policy development and implementation.

  • Serve as a key consultant to the executive team on labor and employee relations matters, guiding informed decision-making.

  • Actively participate in planning for the organization's workforce future, leveraging insights from employee and labor relations to inform HR strategies.

Qualifications

  • JD or Master's degree required.

  • At least 8-12 years in HR management or labor relations, including leading labor relations programs and negotiations.

  • Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and team-building capabilities.

  • Demonstrated potential for career progression within HR, including broadening into HR leadership roles.

  • Polished and professional communication (verbal/written) skills. Interpersonal skills to be able to relate well to all levels of the organization.

  • Extensive Labor Relations and Human Resources experience in increasingly responsible positions.

  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

  • Ability to work well with diverse groups of people.

Additional Preferences:

A strong track record in establishing and driving labor relations strategies. Experience in high-level negotiations and complex labor relations in a healthcare setting. Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring and leading transformative initiatives

Salary Range:

$82.86 - $124.29 USD Hourly
