About the role:

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will support AP1000 primary components like steam generator, pressurizer, PRHR, core makeup tank, accumulator and operating plant replacement steam generator design.

You will report to the Manager of Component Design & Mangement Programs. You will work a hybrid schedule based in Cranberry Woods, PA


Key Responsibilities:

  • Author technical documentation for AP1000 primary components (e.g. steam generator, pressurizer, PRHR, core makeup tank and accumulator)
  • Steam generator design documentation like design specifications, design reports, E&DCRs, and calculation notes for operating plant replacement
  • Perform calculations for and apply ASME Code to design and analysis of reactor vessel internals components
  • Evaluate nuclear power plant components using Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Support larger generic projects that are developing the industry guidance and requirements for safe long-term operation of nuclear power plant reactor vessel internals components
  • Prepare technical presentations and written communications for customers and management.
  • Write commercial proposals and prepare cost estimates.
  • Occasional travel, both domestic and international, to customer and vendor facilities to provide on-site support, presentations, or aid in issue resolution


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years applicable experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Understand and interpret design documents including drawings and calculation summaries.
  • Technical leadership
  • Comfortable w/ domestic and international travel
