POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Utilization Case Management team. Supports and coordinates functions related to compliance with required admission forms collaborates with utilization case management team members, the business office, health information management department, and other hospital staff as well as with community resources.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in Business Administration, Administrative Science or related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

3-5 years of administrative secretarial health care experience preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills required (ie. Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.). Completion of orientation/training as required. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively (oral and writing). Ability to effectively interact with customers to meet their needs. Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision. Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Ability to set priorities, make effective decisions, and respond quickly to customer's needs. Ability to recognize and deal with problematic situations and to prioritize. Uses discretion in confidential matters.
