Your role with us

This medical assistant role in the Surgery Clinic plays a vital part in both patient care and clinic operations. By assessing vital signs, identifying urgent health concerns, assisting with procedures, and supporting providers with accurate documentation and follow-through, you will be ensuring patients receive timely, compassionate, and effective care. Your work not only enhances patient outcomes and experiences but also supports the overall efficiency and quality of care within the clinic.

What you'll do

  • Evaluate patients, identify life-threatening conditions, and alert physicians accordingly.
  • Collect patient history, document vital signs, and reassess conditions after interventions.
  • Determine care priorities, intervene in urgent cases, and escalate care when necessary.
  • Coordinate and document physician orders, initiate diagnostic tests per protocol.
  • Adjust to patient flow needs, ensuring continuity of care and efficiency.
  • Provide clear discharge instructions, involve family when applicable, and ensure referrals/resources are available.
  • Perform basic lab tests, maintain competency in quality control and proficiency testing.
  • Ensure medication safety, security, and proper administration per protocols.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all clinic-related patient care tasks.
  • Maintain precise records in Epic Ambulatory for visits, calls, and requests.
  • Properly assign facility charges for patient encounters.

Required qualifications
